Welcome to Befuddled With Badness

Befuddled with Badness was originally the name of an article I was going to write after sitting through an excruciatingly mind-numbing and inane business conference where they paraded laughable speaker after speaker through the podium.  One particularly talented ridiculous speaker claimed he read two books a day and challenged us to do the same - because he used an app that was the equivalent of CliffsNotes from my days back in high school!  I still may get around to writing that article, there are some other fascinating examples after all, but that payoff is simple:  as I sat that bewildered at the amount of senseless glib nonsense that was being spewed I came to the riveting conclusion that I didn't know what was worse:

1. The fact that there was that much senseless glib nonsense being spewed, or

2. The fact that the audience was furiously scribbling notes!

Boggled by the absurdity, I realized I had to tap these thoughts out of my head into tiny pixels in the hopes that it makes sense to someone, somewhere.  You see, I love to consume content, if I latch on to a particular subject, I will seek out and exhaust all the available content and continue to re-read article after article looking for that nugget of insight that may have been missed.  What I've discovered over time is that I'm really sorting through all the available information like an archaeologist sifts through sand and piecing together ancient finds to stitch together a picture puzzle of insight.

Through Befuddled With Badness, I'm hoping to share how I think and challenge some of the questionable advice and conventional wisdom we are exposed to every day.  I don't expect to have all the answers or maybe even, any of the answers.  But I do hope that we will take a journey together in pursuit of contemporary topical observations so you can ask your own questions and create your own understanding.  We'll explore what things are, what they mean, and why they're important.  If nothing else, I commute three to four hours a day which leaves me a lot of time to think - this exploration may end up being nothing more than my senseless ramblings and musings of my brain as my cognitive functions are focused on the ironically named rush hour in which the only thing being rushed is our patience.

I don't know what we'll end up covering.  I know that I like to think and I like to write.  I also happen to love learning and share that love of learning.  My passions range across a multitude of different subjects and topics and things, but all have one thing in common: I like to do cool stuff.  So if you like to do cool stuff and you like cool stuff and are willing to explore learning together, I'm hoping you find something you like that will help you find your passion, unleash your creativity, or motivate you through your next set of contemporary currents!  Through it all, I'll have one gold standard:

One whose work moves to delight - Homer

Cheers!
